May 16 (SeeNews) - Austrian food retail group SPAR said its Croatian unit, SPAR Hrvatska, has invested over 4 million euro ($4.4 million) in its INTERSPAR hypermarket in Kukuljanovo, near Rijeka, aiming to strengthen its position in the northern Adriatic.
The new hypermarket has a retail sales area of over 3,500 square metres and offers more than 25,000 food and non-food products, the Austrian group said in a press release last week.
The new store generates employment opportunities for 100 team members.
The company reopened in April a SPAR Supermarket in Split, Croatia's the second-largest city and a popular tourist destination, after a three-month renovation.
