March 2 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian drug maker Sopharma [BUL:3JR] led the blue-chip gainers on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) on Thursday, bourse data showed.
Sopharma shares closed 2.74% higher at 3.750 levs in a turnover of 11,960 units.
A day earlier the company said its consolidated net profit rose 124% to 50.7 million levs in 2016. Sopharma shares closed 4.89% higher at 3.650 levs on Wednesday as 25,576 shares changed hands.
Total stock trading turnover decreased to 819,200 levs ($440,200/418,800 euro) on Thursday, from 1 million levs on Wednesday.
The blue-chip SOFIX index rose 0.14% to 613.07 points, after adding 0.18% on Wednesday.
The broader BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the BSE, increased by 0.33% to 121.44 points on Wednesday, following an increase by 0.40% the previous day.
The BG-REIT index, which tracks the performance of the real estate investment trusts, remained unchanged at 107.68 points, after closing 0.14% lower on Wednesday.
The BG TotalReturn30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, rose by 0.81% to 490.02 points. They closed flat on Wednesday.
Diversified conglomerate Holding Varna [BUL:5V2] led the blue-chip decliners on Thursday, falling 2.11% to 30.051 levs, as 50 of its shares changed hands.
Industrial conglomerate Chimimport [BUL:6C4] was the most traded blue-chip company on the Sofia bourse on Thursday, as 15,139 of its shares changed hands on an average price of 1.611 levs. They closed 1.84% lower at 1.600 levs.
Late on Wednesday, Chimimport said its consolidated net profit fell to 65.6 million levs in 2016, from 67.1 million levs in the previous year.
