January 18 (SeeNews) - Four of the five indices of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) went up on Thursday, with the blue-chip SOFIX rising by 0.45% to 777.23 points, bourse data showed.
SOFIX was pushed up by diversified group Doverie United Holding [BUL:DUH], which increased by 2.31% to 8.86 levs, and energy and insurance group Eurohold Bulgaria [BUL:EUBG], which ticked up 2.14% to 1.43 levs.
Doverie United Holding and Eurohold were also the top gainers in the BGTR30 index but were offset by a 4.40% drop in the Bulgarian Stock Exchange [BUL:BSE] to 15.20 levs. The index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, closed flat at 807.43 points.
The BGBX40, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, advanced by 0.31% to 160.06 points. It was boosted by the rise at Doverie United Holding, but its best performer was diversified group Synergon Holding [BUL:SNRG], which surged 15.74% to 1.25 levs.
At the same time, the BGREIT index, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts, ended the session 0.72% higher at 191.64 points. It was propelled by a 7.24% jump in Sopharma Buildings REIT [BUL:SFB] to 16.30 levs and a 1.54% climb in Bulgarian Real Estate Fund REIT [BUL:BREF] to 2.64 levs.
The BEAMX, which tracks the ten most highly capitalised growth companies, leapt by 1.05% to 104.08 points. The index was spurred on by biometric identification security systems developer Biodit [BUL:BDT], which soared 9.30% to 1.41 levs, and venture capital fund Webit Investment Network [BUL:WIN], which added 3.66% to 0.85 levs.
Total turnover on the main market of the Sofia bourse almost doubled to 960,831 levs ($534,252/491,263 euro) on Thursday from 518,183 levs on Wednesday.
The highest turnover, of 258,754 levs, was generated by fuel retailer Petrol [BUL:PET], which was also the day's top gainer on the BSE. The company's stock skyrocketed 73.44% to 2.22 levs after 116,556 shares changed hands.
