November 25 (SeeNews) - Slovenian provider of cable TV, telephony and broadband Internet services Telemach has upgraded parts of its network using equipment from Transmode, a Swedish provider of optical networking solutions, Transmode said on Wednesday.
Telemach's extensive network, which reaches over 4,000 kilometres across the country, is based on a combination of optical and coaxial components, Transmode said in a statement posted on its website. The company did not disclose the value of the deal.
“Through constant investment in technology innovations, Telemach provides a high level of service to a wide range of Slovenian domestic users and businesses. These services include Cable TV (analog and digital), Internet Service, Telephony (SIP) and Multichannel Multipoint Distribution Services (MMDS – otherwise known as Wireless Cable) for one way TV distribution and for full triple play service”, the statement added.
Telemach is deploying Transmode’s TM-Series optical networking solution in its diverse network. The key new links that will be improved by the Transmode installation include routes into the capital from Novo mesto, Kocevje and Trbovlje, and between eastern cities Murska Sobota and Gornja Radgona.
Ljubljana-based Telemach is owned Mid Europa Partners, an investment group operating in Central Europe.
Transmode is a provider of optical networking solutions for transport of data, voice and video traffic, based on CWDM and DWDM technology (Coarse/Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing).
