May 17 (SeeNews) - The benchmark index of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE), SBITOP, rose on Tuesday amid sharply increased turnover, bourse data showed.
SBITOP, which tracks the most liquid and highly capitalised stocks on the LJSE, closed 0.47% higher at 712.63 after losing 0.76% on Monday.
Total daily turnover more than doubled to 1.6 million euro ($1.8 million) from 691,842 euro on Monday.
Three out of seven blue chips ended higher on Tuesday, two closed lower and two stayed flat.
Home appliances maker Gorenje [LJE:GRVG] was once again the top gainer for the day, adding 7.41% to 5.8 euro with 48,487 shares sold.
Insurer Triglav [LJE:ZVTG] was the main blue chip loser, falling 0.78% to 26.8 euro with 8,752 shares changing hands.
Drug maker Krka [LJE:KRKG] remained the most traded company, with a turnover of 544,480 euro for the day with 9,035 shares changing hands. The stock closed flat from Monday at 60.2 euro.
