April 29 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's sovereign holding SSH has hired law firm Ulcar to carry out a legal review of the procedure for the appointment of Tomaz Kokot as CEO of state-owned postal operator Posta Slovenije, local media reported.
The law firm will be able to hear all people involved in the appointment of Kokot and gain unlimited access to the entire related documentation, news portal Necenzurirano reported on Thursday.
Posta Slovenije's supervisory board named Kokot as CEO on February 1.
The decision drew fire from the opposition parties in Slovenia's Parliament, which accused the ruling populist conservative Democratic Party (SDS) of political staffing at Posta Slovenije. Kokot was SDS councilor in the municipality of Poljcane for more than a decade, where he also unsuccessfully ran for mayor.
Posta Slovenije is run by the state, which exercises its rights via SSH.
