November 28 (SeeNews) - Slovenian company BTC, the owner of the BTC City shopping and entertainment complex in Ljubljana, plans to start the construction of a residential area at the complex with the support of strategic partners, it said.
To start with, BTC intends to launch the construction of a park with a footprint of approximately 10,000 sq m n the first half of 2023, which will also be part of the complex, the Slovenian company said in a statement last week.
According to Slovenian media reports, BTC plans to invest 4 million euro ($4.2 million) in the construction of the park.
"We will work even more intensively to reduce the total carbon footprint in the area, both our own and that of our business partners. With this form of cooperation and integration, we want to create a regional example of good practice in the field of comprehensive management and development of the sustainable operation of BTC City," CEO Damjan Kralj said.
BTC City has a total gross area of 250,000 sq m and features a main shopping mall named CityPark, 16 smaller shopping malls, a multiplex, the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Ljubljana, a market, a mini golf course, a waterpark with a spa centre, an entertainment centre as well as two office buildings.
