May 6 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's government paid out a total of 51.6 million euro ($54.4 million) in financial aid to companies and farmers to alleviate the impact of high energy prices, it said.
The financial aid was provided to a total of 5,996 beneficiaries whose energy costs will increase by more than 40% in 2022, the government said in a statement on Thursday.
In February, the Slovenian parliament adopted a 95 million euro financial scheme in support of companies and farmers that have suffered the greatest damage due to rising energy costs.
The amount of aid for each company will not exceed 60% of the increase in energy costs, while the range of grants is from 30 euro per entity to 2 million euro.
