September 29 (SeeNews) - Serbia's foreign trade deficit for the first eight months of 2017 widened 10.5% on the year to $2.91 billion (2.5 billion euro), data from the country's statistical office showed on Thursday.
The country's exports rose 11.9% to $10.9 billion, while imports grew 11.6% to $13.8 billion, the data indicated.
The export-import ratio rose to 78.9% from 78.7% in the first eight months of 2016.
Serbia’s main export markets in the first eight months of 2017 were Italy and Germany, absorbing $1.47 billion and $1.39 billion worth of exports, respectively, while imports originating from Germany and Italy stood at $1.75 billion and $1.38 billion, respectively.
