September 14 (SeeNews) - Serbia's average annual consumer price inflation quickened to 2.6% in August from 2.4% in July, the national statistical office said.
On a monthly comparison basis, Serbia's consumer price index (CPI) rose by 0.3% in August, after decreasing by 0.3% in July, the statistical office said on Thursday in a monthly inflation report.
Recreation and culture costs rose 3.3% month-on-month in August, while prices of household maintenance and utilities grew 0.6%. Prices of transport went up by 0.4%, while communications prices increased 0.3%.
Prices in the sector of clothing and footwear fell by 1.5% in August, while alcoholic beverages and tobacco costs declined 0.1%.
The country's annual consumer price inflation quickened to 3.0% in 2017 from 1.2% in 2016.
