BELGRADE (Serbia), May 11 (SeeNews) – Serbian companies Termovent, EuroCons and Delta Engineering have completed the installation of a biosafety level 2 (BSL-2) laboratory for novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) testing at Belgrade's Clinical Centre of Serbia, Termovent said.
The laboratory has a capacity for testing 2,000 samples per day and will contribute to preventing the spread of the global COVID-19 pandemic, Termovent said in a blog post on Friday.
The companies designed the laboratory, named "Fire eye", identically to the laboratory in China's Wuhan, the place of the pandemic outbreak, Termovent said.
Termovent has been contracted for designing a COVID-19 testing laboratory in the Netherlands which will be opened in July, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce said in a separate statement on Friday.
The first phase of the project, executed by Dutch company Poonawalla Science Park, comprises the establishment of the laboratory, and the second involves the construction of a space for production of vaccines, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce said.
"We are implementing a project of national importance in the Netherlands, in cooperation with a longtime customer, Poonawalla, for which we manufacture and install equipment and provide the required technological conditions for the production of vaccines," the COO of Termovent, Dusan Petrovic, said.
Termovent is specialised in the production of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment and clean rooms.
