July 18 (SeeNews) - Serbia's government plans to use the proceeds from a loan by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to repair the road network of the Pirot district, in the country's eastern part, infrastructure minister Zorana Mihajlovic has said.
The government intends to invest 50 million euro ($56.2 million) in the project, while an additional 600 million dinars will be provided by state-owned road construction company Putevi Srbije, Mihajlovic said in a press release on Wednesday.
"At today's meeting we confirmed all agreements, the roads from Pirot to Babushnica, Bela Palanka and Dimitrovgrad will be repaired," the mayor of Pirot, Vladan Vasic, said in the press release.
Mihajlovic held a meeting with representatives of the local authorities in the Pirot district to discuss infrastructure projects to be financed by the Serbian government.
