November 29 (SeeNews) - Road toll prices in Serbia will rise by 9% from January 1, local media reported on Tuesday.
The decision has been approved by parliament, the acting director of the roads agency, Zoran Drobnjak, said, as quoted by Kurir news agency.
Thus, following the hike, the toll on the 237 km motorway section from Belgrade to Nis, the country's third largest city, will increase to 1,090 dinars ($9.61/9.29 euro) from 1,000 dinars, according to a toll calculator on the agency website.
Discounts granted for payments via the electronic toll collection (ETC) platform too will be revised. For payments of 20,000 to 50,000 dinars, the discount will be 4%, for payments of 50,000 to 100,000 dinars it will be 6%, and for payments over 100,000 dinars it will be 8%.
