March 8 (SeeNews) - Serbia's state-owned company Infrastruktura Zeleznice Srbije has launched a 1 billion dinars ($9.5 million/8.5 million euro) project for the overhaul of the railway line linking Kragujevac to Lapovo, it said on Friday.
The project, slated for completion in November, will allow train speeds of up to 100 km/h, Infrastruktura Zeleznice Srbije said in an e-mailed statement.
The overhaul of the 31 km-long Kragujevac-Lapovo line in central Serbia is part of a project for reconstruction of the Kraljevo-Lapovo railway, which will be completed in September 2020, the company said.
Infrastruktura Zeleznice Srbije plans to overhaul regional railway lines with a total length of 318 km in 2019, its managing director, Miroljub Jevtic, said in October.
