May 19 (SeeNews) - Serbia's economy ministry has launched a 1 billion dinars ($9.3 million/8.5 million euro) programme to help micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) buy equipment, it said.
The economy ministry will co-finance 25% of the companies' costs for new equipment through grants, 70% will be covered by loans from banks and leasing companies, and the remainder will consist of own resources, the ministry said in a statement on Monday.
The goal of the programme is to boost competitiveness and create new jobs.
The government's partners in the implementation of the programme are ProCredit, Credit Agricole, Banca Intesa, Banka Postanska Stedionica, Erste Banka, Intesa Leasing and UniCredit Leasing.
