BANJA LUKA (Bosnia and Herzegovina), April 4 (SeeNews) – Russia's JSC Machine-Building Factory of Podolsk (JSC ZiO) is interested in participating in the reconstruction and modernisation of Bosnian thermal power plants Gacko and Ugljevik, the office of the president of the Serb Republic said.
The project would extend the lifespan of two thermal power plants and increase their capacity, the office of the president said in a statement on Tuesday following a meeting with JSC ZiO representatives and special representative of the president of the Russian Federation, Sergey Shmatko.
The meeting is expected to result in a concrete deal in the near future, the office noted.
The Gacko and Uljanik thermal power plants are part of coal mining and energy producing companies RiTE Gacko and RiTE Ugljevik, respectively.
Both are located in the Serb Republic, which together with the Federation makes up Bosnia and Herzegovina.
