January 6 (SeeNews) - Romanian natural gas producer Romgaz [BSE: SNG] has launched a public tender worth 3.7 million lei ($797,620/751,340 euro) to acquire fire prevention equipment.
The contract will have a duration of 12 months, Romgaz said in a tender notice filed with the national public procurement portal, SEAP, earlier this week.
"The present acquisition is necessary to operate the compression units in maximum safety conditions and at the same time to comply with the legislative requirements and regulations in force," Romgaz said in the SEAP announcement.
"Thus, it is necessary to replace the existing detection centers with a new generation, high-performance gas-fire-smoke detection system, suitable for potentially explosive working environment (ATEX)" the company added.
At the end of last month, Romgaz said it expected its output to drop by 1.8% in 2022, mainly due to a natural decline in deposits and the impact from the war in Ukraine.
Romgaz Group consists of parent company Romgaz and Depogaz - a subsidiary 100% owned by Romgaz, and its associates Depomures and SC Agri LNG Project Company. The group's nine-month net profit soared 93.5% year-on-year in 2022 to 2.237 billion lei ($482.2 million/ 454.2 million euro).
Romgaz shares traded 0.25% lower at 39.9 lei as of 1117 CET on Friday on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
