February 8 (SeeNews) - Romania's UniCredit Bank increased its consolidated profit 19% to 88 million euro ($109 million) in 2017, its Italian parent UniCredit Group said on Thursday.
UniCredit Bank's pre-tax profit rose 17% year-on-year to 106 million euro in 2017, UniCredit Group said in its annual financial statement.
The bank generated an operating income of 371 million euro last year, up by an annual 1.9%.
Net interest income rose 10.3% year-on-year to 228 million euro, while net fees and commissions added 8.8% to 81 million euro in 2017.
Deposits rose by 20.4% year-on-year to 5.78 billion euro, while loans grew 9.9%, reaching 5.73 billion euro at the end of December.
In the fourth quarter, the bank's consolidated profit rose to 18 million euro, compared to 9 million euro in the respective period of 2016.
The bank operated 157 branches in Romania as of end-December, serving more than 600,000 customers.
