February 9 (SeeNews) - Romania’s trade deficit rose by 10.42 billion euro year-on-year in 2022, to an estimated 34 billion euro ($36.5 billion), the country’s statistical office, INS, said on Thursday.
Exports increased by an annual 23.1%, while imports rose by 28.1% last year, INS said in a statement.
The European Union absorbed 72.3% of Romania’s exports in 2022 and accounted for 70.9% of the country’s total imports.
Machinery and transport equipment made up 41.7% of Romania’s exports and 32.8% of imports last year, while other manufactured goods accounted for 29.8% of exports and 28.3% of imports.
