March 13 (SeeNews) - Romanian real estate agency RE/MAX said that it brokered 2,500 real estate transactions worth 155 million euro ($175 million) in 2018.
Of the total transactions, some 81% involved residential properties, the company said in a press release.The biggest transaction RE/MAX brokered last year amounted to 2.5 million euro and involved an industrial space in the central city of Sibiu.
Most transactions were conducted for properties in the cities of Brasov, Cluj and the capital Bucharest, the agency added.
"Taking into account the steady upward trend of business, continued investment in education and technology, and current market trends, we estimate a 40% increase in commissions for this year, as well as a growing number of franchisees and agents," RE/MAX Romania president Razvan Cuc said.
Total commissions received by the broker in Romania last year increased by an annual 40%, reaching 3 million euro.
RE/MAX, founded in 1973 in the United States, is present in 100 countries with over 7,000 offices and 100,000 agents.
In Romania, the broker currently operates 42 offices and employs 350 real estate agents.
