December 9 (SeeNews) - Romania's real average net monthly wage rose by a real 13.2% year on year in October, decelerating from a 14.9% annual growth a month earlier, statistics office data showed on Friday.
On a monthly comparison basis, net wages rose by a real 0.3% in October, from a 0.9% advance in September.
In nominal terms, the average net wage increased 12.7% on the year and was up 0.7% on the month to 2,108 lei ($505/468 euro) in October.
The highest net average wage of 5,513 lei was registered in computer programming, consultancy and related activities (including information service activities) while the lowest, 1,281 lei, was recorded in accommodation and food service business.
The most significant month-on-month increases in net average earnings were registered in mining of coal and lignite, of 4.8%, and in manufacture of textiles, metals, production of films, video and television programmes, music recording and publishing activities, of between 3.5% and 4.5%.
The most significant drop in the average net wage in October was recorded in extraction of crude oil and natural gas - by 26.5%, in mining support service activities - by 15.8% and in manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products - by 15.6%.
In the public sector, the average net earnings increased over the previous month in education - by 3.3%, in public administration - by 0.4%, and in health and social assistance - by 4.4%.
