June 23 (SeeNews) - Romania's M3, the broadest gauge of the country's money supply, grew by a nominal 13.5% year-on-year to 503.7 billion lei ($123 billion/103 billion euro) in May, compared to a 14.7% increase in April, the central bank, BNR, said on Wednesday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Romania's M3 money supply edged up 0.4% in May, BNR said in a statement.
In real terms, May M3 was 9.4% higher on the year and edged down 0.1% on the month.
Romania's M1 rose 18% on the year to 351 billion lei last month, compared to a 19.7% growth in April.
Net foreign assets rose by an annual 11.2% in May, reaching 237 billion lei, while net domestic assets rose by 15.6% to 269 billion lei.
