May 31 (SeeNews) - Romania's unemployment rate stood at 5.6% in April, up by 0.1 percentage points from the rate recorded in March, the national statistical office said on Wednesday.
When compared to April 2022, Romania's jobless rate was 0.1 percentage points higher, the statistical office, INS, said in a monthly report.
There were 461,100 registered unemployed in Romania in April, compared to 454,100 in March and 454,000 in April 2022.
The jobless rate among women was 5% versus 6.1% among men in April 2023.
The unemployment rate among adults aged between 25 and 74 was estimated at 4.6%. Adults aged 25 to 74 who were without a job in April represented 76.9% of all unemployed people. Unemployment among people aged 15 to 24 remained high at 21.7%.
Romania's workforce is estimated to have reached 8.27 million people in 2022, up from 8.214 million in 2021.
