April 3 (SeeNews) - Romania's unemployment rate stood at 5.6% in February, down by 0.1 percentage points from January, the statistical office said on Wednesday, quoting provisional data.
Compared to February 2023, Romania's jobless rate was 0.1 percentage points higher, the statistical office said in a monthly report.
Registered unemployed in Romania numbered 466,400 in February, compared to 472,000 in January and 444,900 in February of last year.
The jobless rate among women in February was 5.2% versus 6% among men.
The unemployment rate among adults aged between 25 and 74 was estimated at 4.5%. Adults aged 25 to 74 who were jobless in November accounted for 74.4% of all unemployed people. Unemployment among people aged 15 to 24 remained high, at 22.1%.
Romania's active workforce is estimated to have reached 8.27 million people in 2022, up from 8.21 million in 2021.
