April 7 (SeeNews) - Romania’s economic output rose by an annual 4.7% in 2022, slowing down from a 5.8% increase recorded in 2021, the statistical board, INS, said on Friday, quoting provisional data.
In the fourth quarter of last year, Romania’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew by an unadjusted 4.5% on the year, after a 3.7% annual rise in the third quarter, INS said.
Based on seasonally adjusted figures, Romania’s economy expanded by 4.8% in the fourth quarter of 2022, accelerating from a 4.4% annual increase in the previous quarter.
On a quarterly comparison basis, Romania’s GDP edged up by 1% during October-December, following a 1.2% quarterly growth in the third quarter, seasonally adjusted data showed.
In February, INS said in a flash estimate that Romania’s economic output rose by an annual 4.8% in 2022 and by 4.6% on the year in the fourth quarter alone.
In January, finance ministry analysts estimated that Romania’s economic output would rise by 4.9% in 2022, revising their previous autumn forecast for 4.6% growth.
