September 13 (SeeNews) - Romania's foreign debt increased to 131.9 billion euro ($155.5 billion) at the end of July 2021 from 125.9 billion euro at the end of 2020, the central bank, BNR, said on Monday.
The end-July figure includes 95.931 billion euro in long-term foreign debt, down from 92.826 billion euro at the end of 2020, BNR said in a monthly balance of payments report.
Long-term external debt service ratio fell to 17% in July, compared to 20% at end-2020.
Goods and services import cover stood at 4.9 months at end-July, from 5.6 months at end-2020.
The ratio of the BNR’s foreign exchange reserves to short-term external debt by remaining maturity decreased to 84.8% at end-July, from 90.7% at end-2020.
