December 11 (SeeNews) - Romania's consumer prices rose by 0.67% month-on-month in November, compared to a 0.44% rise in October, failing analyst expectations, official figures indicated on Friday.
Annual inflation accelerated to 4.65% in November from 4.30% in the previous month.
The median forecast of four local bank analysts polled by SeeNews earlier this week put Romania's November inflation at 0.4% month-on-month and at 4.4% in annual terms.
The average monthly consumer price inflation in the first 11 months of 2009 was 0.4%, compared to 0.5% a year earlier, Romania's statistics office INS said in a statement.
Romania's end-year inflation slowed to 6.3% last year from 6.57% in 2007, way above the upper end of the central bank's 2.8%-4.8% target band for 2008.
