April 13 (SeeNews) - Romania recorded a current account deficit of 1.627 billion euro ($1.936 billion) in the frist two months of 2021, compared to 431 million euro in the same period of last year, the central bank said on Tuesday, citing provisional data.
The deficit on trade in goods widened by 485 million euro, while the surplus on services income increased by 265 million euro, BNR said in a statement.
Also, the primary income surplus narrowed by 463 million euro and the secondary income balance recorded a deficit of 358 million euro, compared with a surplus of 155 million euro in the same year-ago period.
Romania recorded a current account deficit of 10.983 billion euro in 2020, compared to a 10.480 billion euro gap in the same period of the previous year.
