October 5 (SeeNews) - Romania's anti-trust authority said on Wednesday that it is looking into the agreed takeover of biopharmaceuticals company Dacia Plant by Belgium's Ceres Pharma, a company operating in the same industry.
The Competition Council will assess the terms of the transaction in accordance with current legislation to determine whether it can be authorized or not, it said in a press release.

Dacia Plant was established in 2002 and t produces food supplements, dietary products from plants, including tea and food such as jam and natural juices and cosmetic products. In 2021, the company registered a net profit of approximately 12.6 million lei ($2.5 million/2.5 million euro), data from the finance ministry showed.
Ceres Pharma develops, produces and distributes medicines, medical devices, biocidal products, cosmetics, dietary supplements and pharmaceutical products. The company's portfolio currently includes 50 brands in nine countries, employing approximately 100 people.
Ceres Pharma is active in Romania through Viva Pharm and Ceumed.
