April 25 (SeeNews) - The deposits of the non-governmental sector in Romanian banks grew 9% on the year to 330.8 billion lei ($78 billion/70 billion euro) in March, compared to an annual increase of 9.1% in February, the central bank, BNR, said on Thursday.
Leu deposits increased 5.4% year-on-year to 217 billion lei in March, after growing by 5.7% in the previous month, BNR said in a monthly monetary statistics report.
Foreign currency deposits increased by 16.5% on the year to 113.8 billion lei in March, after growing by 16.7% in February.
