July 25 (SeeNews) - The value of deposits of the non-government sector in Romanian banks grew 7.5% on the year to 278.9 billion lei ($71.2 billion/61 billion euro) in June, decelerating from an annual rise of 9.1% in May, the central bank, BNR, said on Tuesday.
Leu deposits increased 8.5% year-on-year to 189.9 billion lei in June, after growing 10.5% in the previous month, BNR said in a monthly monetary statistics report.
The annual growth of foreign currency deposits decelerated from 6.3% in May to 5.5% in June, when they totalled 88.96 billion lei.
