March 23 (SeeNews) - The deposits of the non-government sector in Romanian banks grew 12.9% on the year to 306.6 billion lei ($81 billion/66 billion euro) in February, compared to an annual increase of 12.4% in January, the central bank, BNR, said on Friday.
Leu deposits increased 12.6% year-on-year to 208 billion lei in February, after growing by 12.2% in the previous month, BNR said in a monthly monetary statistics report.
Foreign currency deposits increased by 13.4% on the year to 98.2 billion lei in February, after growing by 12.7% in January.
