December 28 (SeeNews) - Romania issued 39,257 building permits for residential projects through November, down 13.4% from a year earlier, the country's statistics board, INS, said on Tuesday.
In November alone the country issued 3,035 building permits for residential projects, 12.4% down from a year earlier, INS said in a statement.
As many as 65.9% of the permits issued in November were for projects in the country's rural areas.
INS issues no figures for the value of the projects which were granted permits.
In 2009 the number of permits issued for residential buildings in Romania rose by 7.9% to 61,092.
