September 1 (SeeNews) - The foreign exchange reserves held by Romania's central bank, excluding gold, totalled 27.743 billion euro ($39.7 billion) at the end of August, up by a net 417 million euro from a month earlier, the central bank said on Tuesday.
Foreign exchange inflows in August totalled 2.4 billion euro, including commercial banks' reserves and mandatory provisions, the central bank said in a statement. Outflows to foreign debt servicing and other payments totalled 1.983 billion euro last month.
In August the central bank's gold reserves remained unchanged from a month earlier, at 103.7 tonnes. The reserves are worth 2.207 billion euro at current international gold prices.
Romania is due to pay 100 million euro on its foreign debt in September.
