June 24 (SeeNews) - The blue-chip BET index of the Bucharest Stock Exchange [BSE:BVB] plunged 6.12% on Friday morning following the UK's vote to exit the European Union.
As at 09:15 CET, the equity turnover on the Bucharest bourse, BVB, stood at 7.34 million lei ($1.8 million/1.6 million euro), and the main transactions were with shares of Banca Transilvania [BSE: TLV], Romgaz [BSE: SNG] and blue chip investment fund Fondul Proprietatea [BSE: FP], data from the BVB showed.
The BET Plus index, which currently includes 34 regulated market-listed companies that meet minimum selection criteria of liquidity and free float, dived 5.99%, while the BET-NG, which includes companies from the energy sector and utilities, slid 5.18%.
Also, BET-XT, which comprises the most liquid 25 shares traded on the regulated market, including the SIF investment funds, dropped 5.87%.
