August 30 (SeeNews) - Romania's finance ministry said that it intends to sell 4.63 billion lei ($947 million/951 million euro) worth of government securities in September, including 525 million lei in non-competitive offers.
The finance ministry plans ten auctions of government securities with residual maturity ranging from 2.5 to 13.6 years and two auctions of six-month and one-year Treasury bills, according to its September debt issuance plan published in the Official Gazette on Monday.
The ministry managed to sell some 12 billion lei worth of government securities in August, more than double the planned amount of 5.6 billion lei.
So far this year, Romania has sold some 42 billion lei worth of bonds and has tapped international markets for 2.5 billion euro ($2.63 billion) worth of 2028 and 2034 Eurobonds, as well as $3.85 billion worth of dollar-denominated bonds.
