March 14 (SeeNews) - Romania sold on Thursday 800 million lei ($176.1 million/160.9 million euro) worth of government bonds maturing on October 30, 2033, above target, central bank data showed.
The average accepted yield rose to 6.65%, from 6.43% achieved at the previous auction of government securities of the same issue held in February. Demand for the T-bonds, which have an annual coupon of 7.2%, climbed to 1.377 billion lei from 845.6 million lei at the previous auction.
The issue will be reopened on Monday when the finance ministry hopes to raise an additional 75 million lei through a non-competitive tender.
