December 3 (SeeNews) - The number of tourists staying in Romania decreased by 14.9% on the year to 504,800 in October, the statistics board, INS, said on Thursday.
In September, the number of tourists staying in Romania decreased by 18.7% on the year to 543,100.
Overnight stays dropped by an annual 16.3% to some 1.374 million in October, INS said in a statement.
The number of tourists staying in Romania dropped by 13.% on the year to 5.366 million in the first ten months of 2009. Overnights fell by 16.2% to 15.331 million in the period under review.
In 2008 the number of tourists staying in Romania rose by 2.2% to over 7.125 million, while overnights increased by 0.6% to some 20.726 million.
