September 3 (SeeNews) - The number of tourists staying in Romania decreased by 10.9% on the year to 809,000 in July, the statistics board, INS, said on Thursday.
In June, the number of tourists staying in Romania decreased by 12.9% on the year to 615,600.
Overnight stays dropped by an annual 14.9% to some 2.744 million in July, INS said in a statement.
The number of tourists staying in Romania dropped by 13.6% on the year to 3.46 million in the first seven months of 2009. Overnights fell by 16.9% to 9.310 million in the period under review.
In 2008 the number of tourists staying in Romania rose by 2.2% to over 7.125 million, while overnights increased by 0.6% to some 20.726 million.
