February 11 (SeeNews) - Construction of the fourth bridge over the Danube river in Novi Sad is expected to start in a month and a half, Serbian infrastructure minister Tomislav Momirovic said.
The current estimate is that the construction works can be completed in 2024, Momirovic said, as seen in a video file posted on the YouTube channel of Serbia's ruling Progressive Party (SNS) on Thursday.
China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) will be in charge of the works on the 130 million euro ($148.1 million) project which includes the construction of the bridge and a 2.4-km bypass road around Novi Sad, the infrastructure ministry said earlier.
The three bridges currently span the Danube in Novi Sad: Liberty Bridge, Varadin Bridge and Zezelj Bridge.
