October 13 (SeeNews) - The number of construction permits issued in Croatia rose by an annual 14% to 695 in August, after increasing 32% year-on-year a month earlier, the national statistical office said on Friday.
The number of permits issued for buildings increased 15% on the year in August, reaching 582, while the number of permits issued for civil engineering works rose 9.7% to 113, the Croatian Bureau of Statistics said in a statement.
The planned value of works covered by the total number of construction permits issued in August reached 1.4 billion kuna ($220.5 million/186.5 million euro).
Out of the total number of permits issued in August, 497 were for new construction, while 198 related to reconstruction.
Based on the number of permits issued in August, 895 dwellings were planned, up 22.1% year-on-year.
