PRISTINA (Kosovo), November 4 (SeeNews) – The net inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) to Kosovo totalled 53.2 million euro ($59.4 million) in August, higher than 43.7 million euro in the same month of 2018, according to preliminary data published by the central bank.
By comparison, foreign remittances to Kosovo totalled 73.8 million euro in August, up 3.8% year-on-year.
The biggest volume of inbound foreign investment in Kosovo in August, of 10.0 million euro, originated in Germany. Switzerland followed with 7.4 million euro.
The sectors, which attracted the biggest volume of investment by non-residents in August were real estate, renting and business activities with 29.5 million euro, and financial intermediation with 10.0 million euro.
In 2018, the net inflow of FDI to Kosovo totalled 231.5 million euro, down from 281.3 million euro in 2017.
