July 26 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's budget was in deficit of 10.3 billion denars ($171.6 million/167.9 million euro) in the first half of the year, compared with a 15.7 billion denars budget gap in the same period of 2021, finance ministry data showed.
Consolidated budget revenues totalled 116.4 billion denars in the January-June period, higher than 101.1 billion denars a year earlier, the finance ministry said in a data release on Monday.
Tax revenues rose to 874 million denars in the period under review, from 649 million denars in the first half of 2021.
Total expenditures rose to 126.8 billion denars, from 116.8 billion denars in January-June 2021.
In June alone, the budget was in deficit of 1.9 billion denars, compared with a deficit of 3.8 billion denars in the same month last year.
At the end of 2021, North Macedonia's budget was in deficit of 38.8 billion denars, compared with a 53.9 billion denars gap a year earlier.
North Macedonia's government has projected a deficit of 42.7 billion denars in the 2022 budget, equivalent to 5.3% of the estimated gross domestic product (GDP).
