PODGORICA (Montenegro), May 21 (SeeNews) – Montenegrin state-controlled wine producer 13 Jul-Plantaze [MNG:PLAP] has completed a 4.1 million euro ($4.6 million) investment project to strengthen primary production and optimise operations, it said.
The company has invested 2 million euro in a refrigerator for the reception, storage and processing of fresh fruit, 1.5 million euro in a 55 hectare vineyard plantation in the area of Sipcanik, and 600,000 euro in the installation of 2 MW biomass boiler, 13 Jul-Plantaze said in a statement last week.
The refrigerator has a capacity of 924 pallets, with 7 chambers, of which 3 chillers for fast cooling and 4 for storage of fruit, and will significantly increase the efficiency of work during the harvesting season, investment director Luka Misovic said in the statement.
13 Jul-Plantaze plans to invest 7.1 million euro this year to develop its facilities, up from 5 million euro in 2018, executive director Verica Maras noted.
The company invested about 40 million euro in the overhaul of its facilities in the last 10 years, Maras added.
Last year, 13 Jul-Plantaze invested 3 million euro in a new bottling line at its factory in Podgorica.
