December 6 (SeeNews) - Moldova's unemployment rate decreased to 2.2% in the third quarter of 2018 from 3.4% in the prior-year period, the country's statistical bureau said on Thursday.
The number of unemployed in the country of 3.5 million people was 30.400 at the end of September, the statistical bureau said in a statement.
Moldova's workforce increased by 7.6% on the year to 1.4 million people in the third quarter.
Unemployment among men in Moldova was 2.6% versus 1.7% among women. The jobless rate was 3.5% in urban areas and 1.2% in rural areas.
Moldova's unemployment rate edged down to 4.1% in 2017 from 4.2% a year earlier.
