CHISINAU (Moldova), November 30 (SeeNews) – Moldova’s state-run telecommunication company Moldtelecom will launch third-generation (3G) services in the first quarter of 2010, the company said.
Moldtelecom, which provides mobile telephony services under the Unite brand, has tested its 3G network and concluded it is technically ready to launch services, the company's director general Vitalie Iurcu said in a statement.
Moldtelecom obtained the 3G licence in December last year. The company will offer 3G services in the capital Chisinau and the second-largest town of Balti in the first stage.
Besides mobile telephony, Moldtelecom also provides fixed-line and Internet services.
