May 4 (SeeNews) - Moldovan startup airline HiSky will launch a route from the Henri Coanda International Airport in Bucharest to Barcelona’s El Prat Airport on July 3, it said on Thursday.
HiSky will operate the flight from Bucharest to Barcelona from July until the end of October, three times per week - on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, it said in a press release.
“Barcelona is the second destination in Spain that we are introducing, after Malaga, and we are confident that this will be the route with the highest potential in our portfolio [...] From our preliminary analyses, it emerged the need to introduce this route, which was previously operated directly by a single company," Iulian Scorpan, CEO of HISky, said.
Following its acquisition of two new aircraft this spring, HiSky currently operates a fleet of seven Airbus A320 family aircraft, averaging an age of seven years. HiSky operates regular flights from Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara, Baia Mare, Iasi and Chisinau to domestic and international destinations.
HiSky recently reached the milestone of one million transported passengers since the start of its operations two years ago.
