December 10 (SeeNews) - Moldova posted an annual consumer price inflation of 7.1% in November, up from 6.8% in the previous month, the National Bureau of Statistics, BNS, said on Tuesday.
The main inflation driver of inflation in November were food prices, which rose 11.8% year-on-year, BNS said in a statement.
Prices of non-food products rose by 4.6% on the year in November, while services rose 3.5%.
Month-on-month, Moldova's consumer prices rose by 0.8% in November. Food price appreciated by 1.9%, while non-food prices grew 0.1%. Consumer prices in the services sector stayed flat month-on-month.
Moldova’s central bank, BNM, maintained its 2019 inflation projection to 5.0% in its latest report issued in November. In 2020, consumer prices are expected to rise by 5.9%, down 0.8 pp compared to the level projected in August.
On October 30, BNM decided to maintain its key rate to 7.5%, aiming to keep inflation close to the target level.
