April 1 (SeeNews) - Moldova's unemployment rate rose to 5.1% in 2019 from a revised 4.1% a year earlier, the country's statistical office said on Wednesday.
Moldova revised 2018 jobless rate to 4.1% from 3%.
The number of unemployed in the country of three million people was 46,900 last year, up compared to 34,100 in the previous year, the National Bureau of Statistics said in a statement.
The jobless rate was 10.4% among people aged between 15 and 24 and 8.5% among people aged between 15 and 29.
The workforce in the country increased by 11% on the year to 919,300 people in 2019.
Last year, the unemployment rate among men in Moldova was 5.8% versus 4.4% among women.
The statistics bureau also said the jobless rate was 4.9% in urban areas and 5.3% in rural areas.
