Novemebr 23 (SeeNews) - Moldova’s Internet service providers (ISPs) increased their sales by 40.4% on the year to 312.5 million lei ($28.2 million/18.8 million euro) in the first nine months of 2009, the country's telecoms regulator, ANRCETI, said on Monday.
The country’s sole fixed-line operator, Moldtelecom, was the market leader at the end of September with a market share of 67.2% in terms of sales, ANRCETI said in a statement.
ANRCETI added that the number of cable Internet users rose by 43.5% in the first nine months to reach 165,200 at the end of September. The number of users going online via mobile phones reached 62,000 at the end of September, ANRCETI said, but gave no comparative figures.
A total of 43 ISPs operated in Moldova in the first nine months.
